Bamboo shaped Galle vase wheel engraved

Bamboo shaped Galle vase wheel engraved by hand, 12 cm high, 9,5 wide, price 14000 euro. This is a very difficult vase to make as it is made out of two parts.

Carefully put together by two glassblowers while hot. First they had to prepare the overlay glass, in this case the opalwhite glass overlayed by oxblood red glass.

Then they had to take both a part of the glassmass, then blow it into shape and then stick it together again.

When the vase was cooled down, it was hand engraved with a decoration of  Turk's cap lilies. France, circa 1895.

As you can see the Galle signature has a Chinese influence.
